Plus, ways to recycle all those lids!
| | | Hi Achternaam, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday. 😊 Over the past several emails, I’ve shared several fall recipes - like applesauce, homemade soup, pear butter, and more too. So much to be thankful for this time of year. But you know what? Fall isn’t just the time of year for preserving. It also marks the end of the summer canning season, which means you probably have a LOT of full jars in your pantry or maybe even spilling onto your kitchen counters. If you’re a large-scale canner like I’ve been in the past, then storing your home canning (whether empty OR full) can be an exercise in creativity. Here are some creative storage solutions for canning jars. And what about when you actually use the food INSIDE the jars? Well, you’re left with a bunch of flat canning lids that technically aren’t recommended for a second canning use. “I don’t just want to throw them out!” Thankfully, there are several ways to recycle used canning jars lids too. 😉 You can find ideas here. Enjoy, Sharon |
