Recently I saw a video clip of a preacher mocking the concept of accountability for pastors. In his snarky aside, he ridiculed elders who wanted to hold him accountable, calling them proud and pathetic. The thing that made the clip so poignant was that this same pastor had since experienced a dramatic downfall when his reckless and sinful behaviors came to light. Apparently, he needed the accountability after all.
