ACOUSTIC ALBUM NO.8 OUT NOW Today, November 26th 2021, Georgian-British singer-songwriter and musician Katie Melua releases ‘Acoustic Album No. 8’, a collection of acoustic reworkings of her acclaimed 2020 release ‘Album No.8’. Produced by Zurab Melua, these stripped back performances present the songs and Katie’s singular voice at their most pure.
Recorded during the quiet period of the lockdown, to be almost like an intimate concert, these acoustic recordings of the songs from Album No.8 mean a lot to me. On guitars is my brother Zurab Melua who single-handedly recorded and mixed it, caring for this audio like it was a precious flame. Simon Goff brought a new energy from Berlin with his improvisation on the violin and Mark Edwards added flavours and touches on piano that revealed new meaning and depths to the songs. It’s an absolute joy to share this with you.
