A new website for our AdLit community! We're excited to announce the relaunch of AdLit.org — a fresh, fully accessible site that is seamless to use across all your devices. We're offering some great new resources, too — including an updated AdLit 101 section, practical and caring guidance on teaching ELLs, and a rich library of diverse middle grade and YA books. Browse below for more details. There will be many additional new resources for educators and families in the coming months. If you find resources you like on AdLit, please share with your colleagues and communities! We're very grateful for our ongoing partnership with the National Education Association. Their generous grant has made this relaunch possible, and it affirms the NEA's commitment to literacy, equity, and achievement for all of our students. Books & Authors: New Resources Are you looking for interesting books that appeal to adolescent readers? We've built a rich library of high-quality, high-interest fiction and nonfiction titles. Using our new Book Finder tool, you can now search quickly for middle grade and YA books by genre, topics, diversity themes, format, and country. Kids need diverse books — places where they can find themselves, see reflections of themselves, and see worlds different from their own. Learn more about why increasing all students’ access to diverse books is so important, how different authors and organizations are supporting that effort, and how movements such as the #WeNeedDiverseBooks campaign are having an impact. Here, you'll also find Diverse Books for All Readers, a new set of book lists on topics including American Indian and Alaska Native characters and social/cultural themes; multicultural biography, autobiography, and memoir; civil rights; and multicultural fantasy. Take a look! Browse the Books & Authors section to find our library of video interviews with top middle grade and YA authors, themed booklists, our step-by-step Author Study Toolkit, resources on using historical fiction in the classroom, the Walter Dean Myers Second Chance Initiative, and more. Just for Fun: Weekly Lit Question! How much do you know about kid lit? Visit the AdLit homepage every Monday for a new multiple choice quiz about classic and new middle grade and YA books.
