April 2021

Dear John Do,

African diaspora communities living in the Netherlands have great potential to contribute to the sustainable development of their countries of origin. The Broker set out to understand how to harness the potential of diaspora professionals, entrepreneurs and experts for Dutch development cooperation. To that end, the ‘Diaspora Inclusion’ dossier, initiated in early 2020 by The Broker and Partos, made a comeback with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) the Netherlands. The collected insights and stories highlighting the bountiful potential of the African diaspora are bundled in this colourful magazine

Cabinet formation       Sustainable ‘Global Netherlands’
Last month, The Broker signed a petition calling for a sustainable coalition agreement by the soon to be formed Dutch cabinet, complementing our earlier call for politicians to integrate their vision of a 'Global Netherlands' in formation of the cabinet. Do you share this vision for a cabinet that develops an action plan to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals via a Global Netherlands approach? If so, sign here for a #duurzaamregeerakkoord (in Dutch).
