| Join us for more events Americans’ perspectives on foreign assistance. In the past weeks, U.S. foreign assistance has been roiled by confusion. Today, the Brookings Center for Sustainable Development will host a panel of experts to discuss the results from a recent public survey on Americans’ views of the country’s foreign aid programs and their implications on U.S. policy. Historic settlement for discrimination in farm funding. On Thursday, the Brookings Race, Prosperity, and Inclusion Initiative will host a conversation with John Boyd, Jr., founder and president of the National Black Farmers Association. The discussion will focus on the $2.2 billion payout for Black farmers who have faced persistent discrimination in the farming industry.
Supporting Black entrepreneurship to boost economic growth. From 2017 to 2022, Black-owned employer businesses had significantly boosted economies in both red and blue states, while also benefiting rural and urban areas. On Thursday, Brookings Metro and the Path to 15|55 initiative will host a panel with business leaders and scholars to discuss this period of inclusive growth.
