Airbus has hired Goldman Sachs for advice to forge a new European space company that can compete with SpaceX.
It’s their latest move to catch up with Musk’s company.

Airbus is one of the largest space companies in Europe.
Like Boeing, it is light years behind SpaceX.
Its defense and space division reported $650 million in losses for the first 9 months of 2024 – a sharp difference from just $3.2 million in 2023.
The company launched ZERO orbital launches in 2024.
Meanwhile, SpaceX launched 134 – a 40% increase from 2023.
Airbus now has a new plan to catch up to SpaceX.
Dubbed “Project Bromo”…
It wants to create a new European SpaceX competitor.
To do so, it is hiring Goldman Sachs and talking with France’s Thales and Italy’s Leonardo S.p.A.
Leonardo has hired Bank of America to advise on the deal.
In other words…
Airbus plans to unite big slow-moving aerospace firms.
These legacy companies are weighed down by European bureaucracy, so turning them into agile and cost-effective leaders seems like a BIG stretch.
European space companies are losing the Space Race 2.0…
With barely any chance of catching up with SpaceX.
