Re-opening | New illustrated book with 200 objects | New episode of »Ask Dr. Wolle«
| | | | | | Dear readers, We are back! For a month now, people from all over the world have been visiting us again in our beautiful DDR Museum. And we are delighted that we are finally able to welcome back familiar faces and new visitors. The positive feedback we have received – especially for the parts of the exhibition that have been redesigned in terms of content and design – motivates and delights us every day. But that is not the only thing we have worked on in the past few months... New book »GDR Daily Life in 200 Objects« During the renovation and maintenance work, we devoted more time to the DDR Museum Verlag. As a result, we are particularly pleased to present the new illustrated book »GDR Daily Life in 200 Objects«. Utilising 200 objects from the museum’s collection, the book explores various realities of life in the GDR – from the end of the war to the fall of the Wall. The book premiere, taking place in our conference room on 10 May, will give participants the opportunity to talk to the authors and ask questions. For those who cannot physically attend, we offer a YouTube livestream on the channel of the DDR Museum. The new publication is already available in our online shop in German and in English. Enjoy reading! | | | | |

| | | Our pride and joy, however, is hidden in the (partly new) exhibition. For those who have not yet had the opportunity to visit the DDR Museum, we have summarised the most important new features in a blog post, but of course this cannot replace the experience of visiting us. What is hidden behind all the drawers, flaps, compartments and monitors can be discovered daily between 9 am and 9 pm at our museum. We hope you enjoy browsing and marvelling! | |
