Alternative to New Year's Resolutions

By Donna

A houseplant in a pot on the floor.I like the comment I heard today in exercise class. This young woman said she doesn't make new year's resolutions but instead picks a word to think more about and implement personally for the year. Her words this year were "commitment" and "support". That's an interesting concept!

Magazine Holders As Printer Shelf

By Sandi/Poor But Proud

Two magazine holders attached together and used as a printer shelf.I recently found two wooden magazine holders. They make great corner shelves for an RV or She Shed or Man Cave. So tonight, I simply taped mine together and sat it under the printer/scanner. This gives me ample room for printer paper. Now if I were doing something else with it, I would use wood glue and perhaps better tape, if I still needed it.

Caramelized Onion Chicken

By attosa

Caramelized Onion Chicken on plateThis is a great way to make the most amazing caramelized onion chicken without the use of added fats. The juices from the onion and chicken themselves are enough to make a fabulous cooking liquid that cooks everything up just right. The lemons are optional here, but I highly suggest them!

Adding Ribbon Flair To Planters

By Ana

Adding Ribbon Flair To Planters - tan and white ribbon on pot of red mums sitting on a white plant standI love using ribbon or fabric strips to dress up planters and pots. The ribbon with wire holds up the best and if outside in the elements, it keeps its shape and color. This look gives any basic pot, planter, or even a window box, that final jewelry accessory to your planting outfit.

Use Salt To Prevent Bleeding Fabric Dye

A South American woven rug with bright colors.I love my old jeans I wear for gardening. Too bad they see a lot of wear and tear. With our weather never getting above freezing for weeks on end, now is a good time to get out needle and thread and do some patching.
