'Americans need to be told the truth': Ousted whistleblower unloads on Trump administration

The Trump administration's timeline for a coronavirus vaccine is likely too optimistic and there's "no plan" to mass produce and distribute one, Dr. Rick Bright, an ousted top Health and Human Services official, told Congress on Thursday. Bright faulted the president and senior officials for minimizing the outbreak early on — with, he said, deadly consequences.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, who Bright said ignored his warnings about the country's preparedness, said Bright's information is outdated.
