It seems like Apple has been working on the Vision Pro for a long time, according to the details of a 2008 patent that’s just resurfaced. Spotted by Macworld, Apple's patent includes a diagram showing something very similar to the Vision Pro. The patent describes the device as a wearable display with intelligent sensors that can "simulate the experience of being in a virtual environment,” and even mentions that the sensors would be able to track head and eye movements. It took another 15 years for Apple to unveil the Vision Pro, during which time the technology for such a headset will have greatly advanced ... |

Clicks has revamped the original Clicks Keyboard specifically for the iPhone 16 series, and after using it, Digital Trends’ mobile specialist Andy Boxall has described it as a “considerable improvement,” finding it so impressive that it’s changed his thinking about the merits of using a physical keyboard with a touchscreen iPhone. Hardware changes have brought much-improved typing accuracy and comfort, according to Andy, thanks mainly to flatter, more naturally spaced, less sticky, and more “pressable” (at an angle) keys, though one notable drawback is that the keyboard adds considerable length to your phone ... |

If you have a ton of CDs gathering dust in the closet, then Fiio’s recently released DM13 Portable Stereo CD Player might prompt you to dig them out. In a hands-on review of the Bluetooth-enabled machine, Digital Trends’ Derek Malcolm found a lot to like about it, including its sturdy build and ease of use. And besides playing CDs, Fiio’s $149 machine also reads WAV, WMA, and MP3 files, as well as AAC and FLAC files, from compact discs. It offers a plethora of connectivity options, too, and its portability means you can “get a few laughs from your friends by showing up and dropping your CD binders and the DM13 on the table” ... |

Moana 2 is on course for a huge Thanksgiving at the domestic box office, according to Boxoffice Pro. Disney’s follow-up to its 2016 Polynesian mythology-themed hit is forecast to earn between $170 million and $200 million in North America across the five-day period from November 27 to December 1. “With K-12 schools currently closing or closed, that younger crowd will be a massive box office injection similar to what we saw over the summer with Inside Out; then it’s a clear runway ... until Paramount’s Sonic 3 and Disney’s Mufasa duke it out for the kiddie dollar on December 20,” Boxoffice Pro said, adding that Wicked and Gladiator II look set to place second and third, respectively ... |

PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida has announced he’ll be leaving his post next month. Yoshida was the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios from 2008 to 2019, and is probably best known to fans as the face of the PlayStation 4, as well as for the many appearances that he made on stage during special events. “When I hit 30 years [with PlayStation], I was thinking, hmm, it may be about time for me to move on,” Yoshida said in an interview. “You know, PlayStation is in really good hands [and] I thought, OK, this is my time.” He added that he’s not retiring from games — just from PlayStation ... |
