There are sixteen institutions in the Twin Cities' limits, all vying for the declining number of traditional-age students in the upper Midwest. According to Concordia University at St. Paul’s provost Eric E. LaMott, growing in this environment has required careful accounting and a shrewd business sense. To raise the profile and prospects of the small liberal arts university, the institution has aggressively been adding courses and embracing partnerships with employers over recent years. As a result, its budget has more than doubled. |
