Oracle Real Application Clusters Now Available on Oracle's Next Gen IaaS

Oracle announced major enhancements that make it easier for organizations to move enterprise database applications to the cloud, including Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Oracle FastConnect private networking capabilities, and Microsoft Windows Server support for Oracle's high performance next generation IaaS. These offerings enable a new range of customers to deploy and access Oracle Database applications in the cloud with performance and availability on par or exceeding on-premises.

Oracle Exadata Express Cloud Service Now Available in Europe

Ideal for small to medium sized data and packed with features for modern application development, Oracle Exadata Express Cloud Service delivers a full Oracle Database experience as a managed cloud service. It runs on Exadata infrastructure and is provisioned in minutes, at an affordable entry-level price starting at $175 USD per month. Recently Exadata Express Cloud Service expanded its global footprint by enabling deployment in Oracle's continental Europe data center located in the Netherlands. This European expansion complements existing Exadata Express availability in Oracle's central-USA data center.

Announcing Oracle NoSQL Database Version 4.4

Oracle NoSQL Database is a scalable, distributed NoSQL database, designed to provide highly reliable, flexible and available data management across a configurable set of storage nodes. To further enable innovative applications that require very fast access to data and flexible data models, Oracle NoSQL Database 4.4 was released with support for JSON indexing to achieve efficient query processing. It can also be easily deployed on the Oracle Bare Metal Cloud Services now.

Panasonic Information Systems Reduces Operating Workload by 15x with Oracle Database 12c and Oracle Exadata Database Machine

Panasonic Information Systems is the core IT company of the Panasonic Group, providing IT services for the entire group. Facing the challenge to reduce the overall operating workload for 16 group companies, Panasonic Information Systems consolidated 38 pluggable databases for the sales management systems of 16 group companies into a private cloud with Oracle Database 12c, Oracle Multitenant, and Oracle Exadata Database Machine, and improved system performance by up to 6.7x, reduced operating workload per system by 15x, lowered maintenance costs, and enhanced IT governance.
