IETM Sofia Plenary Meeting 2024 - Artistic programme unveiled
We are excited to unveil the artistic programme for the IETM Sofia Plenary Meeting 2024, featuring performances showcasing the very best of the local Bulgarian and international cultural scene. The programme ranges from short, outdoor performances and installations free of charge to productions in venues which require tickets. With something on offer for everyone, be sure to delve into the programme and make note of what you want to see and buy your tickets in advance, as some performances have limited seating.
Remember, the early bird deadline for IETM Sofia is less than one month away! Register by 15 May to benefit from reduced fees.

In March, 67 participants attended the IETM Caravan Ljubljana to explore the Slovenian cities of Ljubljana and Maribor and experienced the fifth edition of the TRIGGER platform showcase. On behalf of IETM, Gledališče Glej and TRIGGER partners, we would like to thank all participants, speakers, moderators and organisers for a great event.

The Perform Europe Open Call has officially closed, with an impressive 435 proposals received from all Creative Europe countries. Additionally, over 2200 professionals have registered on their matchmaking platform. Expert evaluators are now reviewing the applications. Find out more about what to expect as an applicant here.
Europe Beyond Access - Open call for co-production
The Europe Beyond Access open call for co-production is now open for Deaf and/or disabled artists based in Europe, who are seeking co-producers for new artistic works based in dance practice, choreography or movement. Find out more about the open call here.

Meet the new IETM Team members!
Our team of staff members has grown considerably since the beginning of 2024 - we’re excited to welcome the following brilliant people to our team and introduce them to the network:
Roisin Caffrey - Production Manager
Roisin joined the IETM Team in January and is responsible for production and content creation of IETM events and meetings, with the IETM team and local organisers.
‘I began attending IETM meetings in 2016 and it’s exciting to be able to bring my experience as a participant and practitioner to the role of Production Manager. I have already been reminded of the great value in connecting via the network and I look forward to deepening the conversations and partnerships.’
Toy Zama - Production Officer
Toy will be working with Roisin for the production of IETM events and meetings.
‘I am thrilled to be part of IETM. I'm eager to nurture dialogue in Europe's performing arts community and look forward to collaborating and connecting with fellow members.’
Giselle Musabimana - Communications Intern
Giselle has joined IETM to strengthen and support the Communications & Membership team.
‘As someone who has always been fascinated and curious about how the arts can be a driving engine for fostering cooperation and ‘human-based’ development, I am more than excited to embark on this new professional journey with IETM! I expect to grow and learn a lot from IETM and its members and stakeholders working jointly to promote performing arts in all their expressions and diversities.’
Emil Namiinda-Cold - Training & Project Coordinator
From May, we will welcome Emil Namiinda-Cold into the team to shape and manage IETM’s training programmes and projects.
‘I am beyond excited to join the IETM team and be part of developing the inner workings of the network and supporting members from a vital sector in moving forward in the best way possible. I am thrilled about the role and hope to encourage thoughtful discussions on breaking barriers and hierarchies.’
Elena Polivtseva - Policy & Research Consultant
In addition to the new team members, Elena Polivtseva will be supporting the IETM Team with all of our policy and research activities in 2024 in a freelance capacity.

Where is culture in the EU 2024 elections campaign?
The European parties have recently revealed their election manifestos, with a notable increase in attention given to culture compared to previous years. In the manifestos for the 2024 elections, culture, arts, and creativity are spotlighted in diverse ways, with references to creative industries, shared identities, cultural diversity, artistic freedom and more. Culture in external relations
The European Economic and Social Committee has published a mapping of cultural projects, initiatives and partnerships in external relations of the EU, Member States, local authorities, institutions and CSOs at the European and national levels. The study presents some important statistics and reveals that the EU is the leader in terms of the number of international projects financed, compared to national governments and other stakeholders. Flanders Arts Institute (Belgium) invites professionals from the performing arts field to join the Plat(e)form(e) 2024 from 13-14 May 2024 in Brussels, to get to know the Belgian scene and new Belgian work. They can host 50 participants and can cover a two-night stay for 25 international guests. Discover how to participate and register by 19 April 2024.
Moving Identities is a residency exchange programme led by performing arts venues and organisations, including a number of IETM members. Its open call is open to performing arts groups or companies based in Denmark, Norway, Germany, Belgium, or Spain. Read more and apply by 26 April 2024.
The British Council International Collaboration Grants is their £1 million grants programme to support the creation of new cultural collaborations between UK artists, arts professionals and organisations and their peers around the world. Discover more and apply by 30 April 2024.
ilDance (Sweden) announces the call for independent dance artists with a contemporary approach to join/form a new collective for the next three years. Read more about the call and apply by 12 May 2024.
The third call for residency hosts of Culture Moves Europe is now open for applications. The call supports organisations to welcome up to five international artists and cultural professionals for a residency project lasting between 22 and 180 days. Read more and apply before 15 May 2024.
Happening from 22 to 25 April 2024 in Lille, France, ENCATC Academy on Sustainable Cultural Management & Policy aims to share knowledge about fresh competencies in building climate resilience and fostering inclusivity; taking a holistic and interdisciplinary approach. Discover more and register.
