The number of undergrads from other states nearly tripled over the past 10 years, exceeding 12,000 students in 2024. By contrast, the number of Louisiana undergrads inched up only 2%, to some 20,300 students. The out-of-staters pay much higher tuition, but some fear they may be crowding out Louisiana students.
