Gaslighting is a manipulation tactic that gradually makes you question your own judgment, feelings and reality. Gaslighters make you second-guess yourself and your interpretation of events, breaking down your confidence over time. It can be hard for victims to recognize that they’re being gaslit, so we asked therapists for 6 common phrases gaslighters often use, starting with, “That never happened.”
