We’ve all been reading tons of stuff about life before, during, and after Covid-19. Rightly so, the media is utterly awash with it.

Even so, it’s very rare that you read something that makes you sit up, makes you think, “Holy Smoke, he’s got a point!”

The great Nassim Nicholas Taleb recently tweeted something that made me do exactly that:

“How you did in this pandemic, as a country, a village, a business, a group, or an individual, whether emotionally, economically, or morally, is an indication of how robust you are and how fit you will be for the next decades.”

They say nobody ever enters a character-building situation willingly, either as an individual or as a society.

And yet here we are, doing exactly that. We are being tested. And maybe it’s a good thing, or at least, maybe there will be huge upsides, for all the suffering that precedes it.

Taleb may or may not be right. What he has done, either way, gives us a very compelling idea to chew on.

[Bonus link: Taleb’s ”Antifragile”. One of the best books of the last twenty years. Brilliant.]

Sustain Your Culture Even When Everyone Is Remote

We're all living long days on Zoom, MS Teams, etc., everyone is talking about the grind, the struggle is real; we are missing the connection that we all took for granted. We have created a simple culture-building tool that will allow you to have more influence over the tone of your meetings, focus people on what you want them to work through and it is based on established social science., written extensively on by Bob Cialdini in his work in Pre-suasion, and BJ Fogg's behavior modification, Marshall Goldsmith, Benjamin Hardy, and others.

We have taken key messages that drive collaboration, innovation, and inspiration and designed them into virtual backgrounds. The idea is you can select and theme meetings, triggering discussion, and connection about the norms, outcomes, behaviors, and deliberately inform the conversation and focus for your virtual meetings.
