There isn't a race quite like this anywhere in the world.

For one weekend a year, the attention of all motorsport fans across the world turn to a small French town by the name of Le Mans.

Here, the greatest drivers on the planet undertake the ultimate challenge in endurance racing: 24 hours of constant driving around the tough Circuit de la Sarthe.

Throughout history, the winners have earned their place in the history books, their stories enter motorsport folklore, and their cars become icons of racing.

Typically, the fields around the circuit would be full of fans camping around the track having made the pilgrimage to Le Mans. And while this year, the parties, concerts and fairgrounds may have to be put on hold, we will still have a race.

In this week's newsletter, we'll learn a thing or two about Le Mans illustrious history, while also hearing from a driver early on his motorsport journey, plus another chance for you to win £500 Motorsport Tickets vouchers (which could be well spent on Le Mans tickets for 2021...)
It's the most challenging endurance race in the world, but what are the key events through the years that have made the Le Mans 24 Hour iconic?

Ahead of this weekend's big race, we take a look back through the race's almost 100-year history at some of the races that shaped Le Mans.

As we went into lockdown, we asked you to nominate your heroes who have been keeping your motor running during difficult times.

We're pleased to announce our latest winner, Jamie Twee, a postman and "all-round superhero" from Doncaster who has been nominated by Jenny.
Jenny told us: "Jamie's a trooper. He's one of the quickest posties in the office, but he's always thinking of ways he can help the customers on his rounds. We had a daughter in November, and during lockdown, he's been a thoughtful person I couldn't have done without.

"He loves motorsport, and every Sunday, Jamie and his grandad get together to watch the build up to the race

"Motorsport doesn't just bring families the thrill of the chase, but togetherness, quality time, and a common interest."
We think Jamie is a more than deserved winner of a £500 Motorsport Tickets voucher. Do you know someone else who deserves some recognition? Visit our social media channels to nominate your lockdown hero, and they could be our next winner!
