Dear John, Miles for Hope is officially underway and we are so grateful to everyone who has committed to getting active, fundraising and helping to spread awareness for missing and exploited children. Our first official "Spirit Week" kicks off Monday, September 6th and we have all sorts of fun activities and challenges in store. Here's a look at what you can expect: Monday, September 6 – Share Your "Why" Use one of our printable signs or Instagram graphics and share how and why you are participating in Miles for Hope. Tag @missingkids and use #MilesForHope2021 to be entered to win a prize! Tuesday, September 7 – “Triathlon Tuesday" Kickoff! Each Tuesday in September we encourage you to try a new activity, ultimately building your own triathlon over the course of the month! Wear your NCMEC, RFMC or Miles for Hope gear and post a photo of your activity. Tag @missingkids and use #MilesForHope2021 and #TriathlonTuesday to be entered to win a prize! Wednesday, September 8 – "Walk Your Pet Wednesday" Kickoff! Dress your pet in your favorite Miles for Hope or NCMEC gear and snap a picture! Don’t have any gear?? Get creative and make your own! Tag @missingkids and use #MilesForHope2021 and #WalkYourPetWednesday to be entered to win a prize! Thursday, September 9 – "Super Hero for Kids" Dress up like your favorite super hero and let us know how you’re working to keep kids safer this September and beyond. Share a photo, tag @missingkids and use #MilesForHope2021 and #MakingChildrenSafer. Everyone who submits a photo will be entered to win a prize! Friday, September 10 - "10 for 10 Challenge" and a 24-Hour Fundraising Match! We’re ending spirit week with a challenge! We want everyone to get moving this weekend. Whether you’re a walker, cyclist, swimmer or dancer - we are challenging you to get active for at least 10 minutes and donate $10 to your fundraising page. Take a video or photo of your activity and tag @missingkids on social media using #MilesForHope2021 and #MFH10for10. BONUS!! On Friday, all $10 donations will be matched (limit one match per fundraiser). John, you've got all the details - now let's do this! Choose your favorite themed day or participate all week long. If you haven't registered for Miles for Hope yet, now is the perfect time! Join today, have fun and help to spread awareness and raise funds to keep children across the country safer. Sincerely, Ed Suk and the Special Events Team The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children www.missingkids.org |
