Curated by Dan Handel, the exhibition draws its name from the historic board game and explores movement, chance, and shifting mental landscapes, transforming the modernist residence into a reflective and dynamic experience. Elyakims first solo exhibition in the U.S., following his 2022 solo show at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Game of Goose will be on view from April 26, 2025, through July 20th, 2025. Delving into the lesser-known dimensions of the VDL House, the exhibition weaves a narrative shaped by its history as a home, social hub, and workspace. Inspired by the Houses interplay of carefully designed boundaries that allow for constant fluctuations of movement, social interactions, and mental states, each work in the exhibition resonates this duality in microc ... NEW YORK, NY.- Nara Roesler announced that Antonio Diass The Illustration of Art/The Body (1974) has been acquired by Art Institute of Chicago for its permanent collection. Antonio Dias was one of the leading figures in 20th century Brazilian art, achieving international recognition during the mid-1960s. His early works were politically-infused drawings, paintings and assemblages permeated by elements from Brazilian New Figuration and Pop Art. A key moment in Dias carreer was The Illustration of Art series (1971-1978), first conceived during a pivotal residency in New York granted by a Guggenheim Fellowship. This series explored diverse themes like astronomy, minimalism, and the pursuit of a 'pure art of ideas' within an increasingly institutionalized art world. Dias critically reflected on art's autonomy, arguing for its relative nature and its inherent ... More | |
Ann Veronica Janssens, Frisson bleu, 2021 - 2023, glass, 140 x 140 x 1 cm, edition of 1, 2 A.P.
NAPLES.- Alfonso Artiaco is presenting Ann Veronica Janssens sixth solo exhibition at the gallery, entitled UP. The solo show inaugurates the gallerys new location at Palazzo Partanna, Piazza dei Martiri 58, Naples. The exhibition opens on Friday, April 4th at 7pm, in the presence of the artist. For over four decades, Janssens (b. 1956, Folkestone, UK; lives and works in Brussels) has explored the shifting boundaries of perception through a practice that is both rigorous and elusive. Her work investigates the interplay between light, matter, and space, engaging these elements not as static forms, but as fluid agents of experience. Through translucent surfaces, reflective planes, and optical phenomena, she constructs environments where reality is not fixed but instead dissolves into an ever-changing, intangible state. Janssens works do not merely represent but come to life through experience: they transform the exhibition space in ... More |

PARIS.- For her solo exhibition at the Fondation as part of the Open Space programme, Ms Rezaire presents the film "Des/astres" (2024), the last part of a trilogy devoted to the ties that humanity forges with the cosmos. Originating at various megalithic sites, this series of films explores their astronomical links to address the connections between Earth and Sky. While the first work Mamelles ancestrales (2019) explored Senegambian stone monuments to understand our relationships with the dead, the second Orbit Diapason (2021) presented a reflection on the existence of extraterrestrial life from a South African megalithic site. The third chapter Des/astres* examines humanitys desire to go beyond the earth and commune with the invisible. Nathanaëlle Herbelin. Portrait by Objets pointus. Courtesy the Artist and Xavier Hufkens, Brussels.
BRUSSELS.- Nathanaëlle Herbelins second exhibition at the gallery presents a new series of portraits and interiors that navigate the fragile balance between immediate, everyday experience and the weight of an unsettled world. At once intimate and expansive, these paintings reflect a desire to hold on to moments of connection―small yet significant interactions with friends, neighbours, and family―amidst an undercurrent of grief, uncertainty, and shifting realities. Herbelins approach is neither sentimental nor detached; rather, she paints with an acute awareness of how personal and collective histories intertwine. The act of painting becomes a way to ground herself, to acknowledge absence, and to bear witness to both quiet rituals and emotional thresholds. While Herbelins earlier works were characterised by vibrant colours and clearly defined settings, the paintings in this exhibition embrace ambiguity. Figures emerge from undefined or weighty ... "Gas fiend." A sleeping French soldier is threatened by a German gas attack personified by a green snake.

The National WWI Museum and Memorial unveiled its newest exhibition examining wars toll on the earth and its lasting environmental impact. Artillery was the primary frontline weapon in WWI and by the time fighting ended on the Western Front in 1918, shelling had torn the countryside apart forests were splintered, craters pockmarked the fields and whole towns were wiped out. Across the globe and during the four years of the Great War, over one billion rounds of artillery were fired. Iron Harvest refers to the unearthing of vast amounts of unexploded artillery shells, bombs, grenades and mines. After the war ended, the destruction along the Western Front was so great that many people could not safely return.
