Good morning, everyone. We have a lot of LSU football news to catch up on and some eye-popping numbers for former Tigers basketball stadnouts trying to make an impression out in the desert. So, without further delay, let's get to it. Football The start of preseason practice is still about 3½ weeks out, but good off-the-field news continues to roll in for Brian Kelly and his coaching staff. While the staff continues to work on the upcoming signing class for 2023, the Tigers received a commitment for the '24 class Monday night. That came after the new staff received nonbinding pledges Friday and Saturday from wide receiver Jalen Brown, their first five-star commitment of the cycle, and three-star linebacker Whit Weeks. In case you missed it, give a read to Wilson Alexander's excellent weekend profile on Will Campbell — a mauler who should start at left tackle as a true freshman. Basketball While football is waiting in the wings, the LSU basketball program is well-represented in the NBA Summer League with nine former Tigers on the floor in Las Vegas. We have the handy, updated game-by-game stats of all nine, led by the red-hot Cam Thomas and Tari Eason, as they try to make an impression on their teams. By the Numbers With 54 days left until the season opener with Florida State, we highlight All-SEC linebacker Eric Hill. Prior to a solid NFL career, Hill made his mark with the Tigers' great defenders in the mid- to late-1980s. Thanks for reading! Until next time, Sheldon Mickles |
