The settlement hinges on Brooklyn Center agreeing to new training for police officers
| June 22, 2022 Minnesota could host the first World's Fair in the U.S. in 40 years, if its bid is successful. A delegation made a pitch in Paris this week for Minnesota to host the 2027 World Expo in Bloomington. Former Secretary of State Mark Ritchie was a member of the delegation. He told MPR News that the chosen site has all of the infrastructure the event would need. "There is the perfect site because it's so close by light rail, to the airport to downtown Minneapolis, downtown St. Paul," Ritchie said. "It's on the way towards the Mayo Clinic. It's near the amenities of the Mall of America, all of the parks that Bloomington has, river rides, and all of that."
