In our regular Books, Coins and Stamps auction, there’s a feast for collectors including a rare 1611 King James ‘Great She’ Bible as well as a signed photograph of Franklin D Roosevelt to the renowned violinist Margaret Harrison.  A single-owner collection of proof sovereigns in our coin section includes sought after commemorative sets while another single-owner collection contains a wealth of 18th century British regional coinage among other treasures.  For the philatelists there is a collection including twelve 1840 Penny Blacks, as well as some interesting curiosities such as an 1872 Green Shilling stock exchange forgery and an album of ‘Errors and Varieties’ for those who seek out the serendipitous misprint.

Lot 32 - GREAT SHE BIBLE. Holy Bible, second folio edition of the King James Bible. Robert Barker 1613/1611. Black letter in two columns with 59 lines to a full column. With the reading 'and she went into the citie' in Ruth 3 v.15 and the 'Judas' for 'Jesus' error in Matthew 26 v. 36. Includes Apocrypha.

Lot 203 - UK Royal Mint, Elizabeth II. Two gold proof two pounds dated 2007. Abolition of slave trade and act of union, together with a gold proof fifty pence dated 2007, scout movement. All within capsules, fitted cases and with certificates of authenticity. (3)

Lot 55 - ROOSEVELT, Franklin Delano (1882-1945) President of the United States 1933-45. Signed photograph. Photograph of FDR seated at his desk and inscribed 'For Miss Margaret Harrison from Franklin D Roosevelt'. A brass plaque on the frame states: 'This wood was part of the White House roof erected about 1817 and removed in 1927'. In the bottom right corner there is a medallion with the words ' The seal of the President of the United States'. Image 205mm x 230mm, frame 295mm x 322mm.
