BY VICKI FERSTEL | Staff writer A damning state investigative audit of Impact Charter School in Baker accuses school founder Chakesha Scott of diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars from the school and a related private foundation to pay for personal travel, a car lease, an in-ground swimming pool at her house and more. The auditors also found evidence of a potential kickback scheme with a school contractor. But, an attorney for the charter school issued a 17-page rebuttal, claiming the 173-page audit is defamatory and full of inaccuracies. Gerard Nicholas Richard, 44, appeared to have been struck by at least one vehicle. His remains were mangled, with wrists bound by rope and tape, a kettlebell and blanket nearby, and blood on the bridge railings, suggesting an attempt to dispose of the remains over the side, officials said.
