The 71st season of the Formula 1 World Championship gets underway at Melbourne’s Albert Park Circuit on Sunday 15 March. The venue has been the scene of the opening round on 22 occasions and this will be the 25 Australian GP to be held here. AUSTRALIAN GP | | Home to the Australian GP since 1996, the circuit uses roads running through Albert Park. 5.303 km in length, the track evolves bit by bit, as it rubbers in. It is particularly demanding on the brakes, with heavy braking areas followed by continual accelerations. Fuel consumption also has to be watched closely here.
