The Australian Greens have joined the growing call for NBN Co to forget about making money. The Greens say the NBN is an essential service not a profit making enterprise and intend to investigate the legislative options for a write-down of NBN Co's debt.

Customer satisfaction with services delivered by Australia’s telcos and telecommunications services providers has improved markedly, with a new survey revealing that 83% of customers now say they are satisfied with services.

Telstra’s two-year old partnership with Silicon Valley software startup Pivotal is gathering pace with the telco saying it is focused on digitisation, and the technology that will help it deliver new customer experiences, “as well as shape the future of Australia”.

Melbourne technology consultancy Transpire has won a $2.7 million contract from the Department of Veterans' Affairs to build a beacon network, smartphone application and a bespoke IT application for the new Sir John Monash Centre at the Australian National Memorial in Villers-Bretonneux, France.
