| | ‘Exposing the Gender Lie’: Authors share how to protect kids from false transgender ideology | | Curated for you byCP Editors | | Good afternoon! It's Wednesday, March 15, and today's headlines include an interview with the co-author of "Exposing the Gender Lie," the Supreme Court asking for additional security funding, and a Christian artist taking home an Oscar for the best animated short film. | | Brandon Showalter began covering the battle over transgender ideology in 2016. Since then, he's received countless messages from parents grieving over the mutilation of their daughters and the castration of their sons, photos from detransitioners regretting their irreversible surgeries, and firsthand accounts from families shattered by the medical scandal of transgenderism. "Over the years, I've lost count of how many moms and dads have called me absolutely devastated, at the end of their rope, because … within 30 minutes of a telehealth consultation, their daughters and sons are given drugs that could render them sterile" or they're encouraged to have surgeries that will leave their bodies disfigured. "They're living in a world of confusion," says Showalter, a writer and social commentator for The Christian Post. Showalter asserts that many students are sent to university where they become indoctrinated. "This has just devoured and shattered their families, and that's not being hyperbolic," he says. | | As a journalist and Bible-believing Christian, Showalter knew he couldn’t just look away when faced with the horrors of the transgender movement. He's written countless articles and even launched a podcast raising awareness about the topic. Now, Showalter and Summit Ministries President Jeff Myers have penned the newly released free e-book, Exposing the Gender Lie: How to Protect Children and Teens from the Transgender Industry. "We wanted to be able to equip pastors and lay leaders, youth and youth ministers to be able to have the philosophical tools to understand this ideology. And most importantly, protect children and teenagers and young adults from its destruction," Showalter shared. The book's release is just in time for the March 23 "Unmasking Gender Ideology: Protecting Children, Confronting Transgenderism" event at First Baptist Dallas in Texas. The event is set to feature two panels of experienced professionals who have been fighting gender ideology in their respective fields. Trans ideology is marketed to children through social channels like TikTok and YouTube, and Showalter says it is time to speak up: "We need to understand the wickedness, the depravity that this is. | Poll: Voters want big pharma, doctors held liable for harm to kids from trans drugs, surgeries | | A poll from Summit Ministries in conjunction with McLaughlin & Associates has found that a majority of likely general election voters believe pharmaceutical companies and doctors who push puberty blockers and body-mutilating sex-change surgeries on children and teens should be held liable for the long-term effects on people who were once confused about their sex. The poll, which surveyed 1,000 likely general election voters in late February, found that 65% of respondents are "concerned" about "efforts to expose children to the transgender movement using things like drag shows, school curriculum, and social media." Meanwhile, 59% of respondents agreed that "pharmaceutical companies and doctors who promote puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones for underage children seeking gender transition should be legally liable for any harmful side effects that arise." Seventy-nine percent of conservatives, 77% of voters who supported former President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, 72% of Republicans, 59% of independents, and 53% of moderates said the same. The only demographic subgroups where holding pharmaceutical companies and doctors who promote puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones liable for longterm side effects did not receive majority support were Hispanics (49%), voters who supported President Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election (45%), Democrats (45%), those who supported Democrats on a generic congressional ballot (45%), voters who approve of President Joe Biden (44%), African Americans (43%) and liberals (42%). Read more. | | SCOTUS asks Congress for more security funds due to abortion activists' threats | | The United States Supreme Court asked Congress to provide an additional $12.4 million in security funding as part of its budget request for Fiscal Year 2024. The request comes amid ongoing threats made to the nation's highest court by pro-choice activists following Politico leaking a draft opinion for the case of Dobbs v. Jackson, which showed that the Supreme Court was going to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide. Specifically, the request stated that "on-going threat assessments show evolving risks that require continuous protection" for members of the high court and their families. The request for improved security followed a "comprehensive review and recommendations" from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, with funding "needed to reinforce the building." Politico's release of the leaked draft has spurred a wave of protests and violence against churches and pro-life organizations, as well as demonstrations outside of the homes of Supreme Court justices and a thwarted assassination attempt on Justice Bret Kavanaugh. The academy filed a lawsuit against the Connecticut Department of Education Commissioner Charlene M. Russell-Tucker, Connecticut Office of Early Childhood Commissioner Beth Bye and Connecticut Department of Public Health Commissioner Manisha Juthani last Monday. At issue is a 2021 law signed by Gov. Ned Lamont "to eliminate the religious exception to Connecticut's school vaccination requirement." The lawsuit maintains that the law "requires parents of children enrolled in preschool programs or any other prekindergarten program—public or private—to vaccinate their children on or before September 1, 2022 or not later than fourteen days after transferring to another program and to submit proof of that vaccination to their school even if vaccinating their children is contrary to their religious beliefs." The lawsuit, which cites 1 Timothy 5:22, indicates that the church relies on the passage "to teach that its members should not take part in other people's sin by consuming vaccines manufactured, tested, or otherwise developed using cell lines artificially developed from murdered unborn babies." It adds that Inspector Bridget Merrill has ordered the church to submit a corrective action plan by Wednesday. Cameron Atkinson, the church's lawyer, called the order "an unconscionable ultimatum." | Woman says Jesus saved her from LGBT lifestyle | | A woman who recently shared how God delivered her from lesbianism and bisexuality in a Delafé Testimonies video posted to YouTube, says that she rejects the idea that she was "born this way," asserting that it's nothing more than a "lie." Brittany Whyte has been vocal about her life before and after coming to Christ, explaining if it weren't for the transforming power of Jesus, she would still be struggling with same-sex attraction and lust for both sexes. While she believes her past struggles stemmed from a manifestation of perversion caused by "generational spirits" that provoked her family's "bloodline," she says Jesus has since "revived" and healed her. She also added that she believes no one can be born LGBT because all humans are "made in the image of God," as recorded in Genesis 1:27. "The Lord has helped me to realize it was rooted in trauma and generational spirits that [have] been following the bloodline. So, however, it chooses to manifest itself. For me, it was homosexuality. For other people that might be pornography. It might be, you know, adultery. But it was that same confusion and same perversion," she explained. | Christian artist takes home Oscar for best animated short film | | Outspoken Christian Charlie Mackesy and Matthew Freud won an Oscar for the best animated short film at the 95th annual Academy Awards on Sunday. During his acceptance speech for "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse," Mackesy said he was "grateful" and "speechless," adding that the embrace of his book of the same name—after which the short film was inspired—was a "bigger prize" than the actual Oscar. Mackesy, who has previously explained that he was "fiercely anti-Christian" in his youth, has been transparent about misjudging the church before becoming a believer. His inquisitive nature eventually led him to discover life's purpose, which changed his life forever and led him to Jesus. He now uses his art, lectures and interviews to share the messages deeply ingrained in his faith. "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" is now available to stream.
