|  | | Pogacar becomes the third reigning world champion to win the Critérium du Dauphiné, after France’s Louison Bobet (1955) and Bernard Hinault (1981). Vingegaard and Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) join him in the overall top-3. Pogi is sending out a strong signal to the competition just a few weeks before the start of the Tour de France, and in particular to the man who remains his best adversary: Jonas Vingegaard.
Thus, starting with the 2026 edition, the Critérium du Dauphiné will be renamed the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, reflecting the region's growing support for the competition.
