Everyone’s FREAKING OUT about what Bo Hines just said to Pomp…

But we think they’re missing the larger (more important) point here.

Here’s what happened/what everyone missed…

→ Bo is the Executive Director of Digital Assets for the US government

→ Bo wants the US government to buy as much $BTC as possible (shocker)

→ He just hinted that the government may consider using tariff revenue to buy $BTC.

And that last point is what everyone is latching on to…

But this was just a throwaway comment – it’s a big fat ‘maybe’ at best (ear muffs)

And it helped to bury the more impactful / tangible talking point:

The US government believes stablecoins will help maintain US dollar dominance, and is building frameworks/infrastructure to support the sector’s growth (w/ bi-partisan support).

Translation: the US government has an active interest in proliferating blockchain technology globally, and both the Dems. and Reps. are on board.

Is this road to mass-adoption as sexy as, say, gaming or social? 

No. It’s WAY more boring.

But that lack of hype makes it WAY easier to capitalize on: 

Follow the stablecoin growth → find the users → pick long-term winning blockchains.

BINANCE AND KUCOIN WITHDRAWALS BRIEFLY HALTED 😕

And AWS just barred Binance & KuCoin users from their crypto/services…

→ Not because of a hack
→ Not because of a blockchain issue

But because Amazon Web Services went down.

Is it annoying when people moan on about the importance of having broad based decentralized systems that are void of any single point of failure?

According to the feedback I received from my extended family over the holiday break – yes, it is “annoying as hell” and “you’re about to give uncle Steve another stroke”.

But decentralization is like that lone anti-diarrheal pill that lives in your travel bag:

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

How do you avoid centralized outage issues like this altogether?
