Do you remember when summer felt like a happy eternity? It's the time of year when, as Ralph Waldo Emerson writes, you should, “Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.” As an adult, summers seem considerably tamer and much shorter. Perhaps that's intentional, so the acclimation back to work isn't as painful when a new school year begins. As you return to your classrooms, I hope you will take a moment to check out the new resources we've created to engage your students and support your literacy instruction. A few are highlighted below but there are many more that will be featured on AdLit.org's home page and on our Twitter and Facebook pages. I hope you'll try a few out and let us know how it goes.
