A Message From the Editor Fresh off the news that Troutman Pepper will be notching a merger with Lock Lord, another Philadelphia-born Big Law firm, Ballard Spahr, has announced it will be linking up with Pacific Northwest firm Lane Powell. According to our first item today, the merger will create a new firm with an estimated headcount of more than 750 lawyers. Also, a federal judge has wiped $19 million in punitive damages from a $20 million award.
