The latest conflict centers on a subdivision slated for French Settlement, which is facing pushback from residents over a proposed sewage treatment plan. Opponents are urging parish leaders to block the subdivision's request. The metro Baton Rouge economy continues its steady comeback after the COVID pandemic. The number of jobs and wages are at all-time highs, and local businesses expect the growth to continue next year. But despite the increased number of jobs, rising wages and optimistic outlook, young workers are leaving metro Baton Rouge.
