| Good evening, As if we hadn’t had enough of staying at home...now we are all being warned to do it again to avoid a new strain of the common cold. It’s being described by Lancashire’s health chiefs as ‘the worst cold ever.’ Doesn’t sound much like fun. So the advice is to stay at home if you can, keep wearing a mask if you do need to go out...and wash your hands. Sound familiar? Apparently the symptoms are similar to those for Covid too. A sore throat, headache, cough and a temperature - so many people are thinking they have Covid when in fact they have a (very) bad cold. In fact there are so many different bugs going around at the moment that you are very lucky if you don’t fall prey to at least one of them. And if you get them, it’s likely that it will hit you hard, mainly because most of us missed out on bugs and the immunity they bring because we barely left the house in winter last year. So take precautions, like getting the flu vaccine if offered and make sure places you do go are well ventilated. And chin up, Christmas is just round the corner! Have a great weekend and take care, Gillian | |
