A collaborative of 250 researchers, co-led by University of Massachusetts Medical School Professor John Landers and funded through the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, have identified a new gene associated with the development of ALS, according to a statement from The ALS Association, a national nonprofit.
 
MassLive to open downtown Worcester newsroom
 
Online news organization MassLive is opening a Worcester newsroom and sales office next month, MassLive announced on its website Tuesday.
 
The announcement, penned by MassLive's Vice President of Content Ed Kubosiak, comes as the company, owned by New York-based Advance Local, pursues a growth strategy in Worcester County.
 
Medusa Brewing Co. eyes 10,000-square-foot production facility in Hudson
 
Hudson's Medusa Brewing Company is looking to build 10,000-square-foot production brewery and tasting room just feet away from its current brewery and taproom on Main Street. 
 
The two-story brick building is to be located on a vacant lot at 1 Houghton St. that was once home to a shoe factory that was demolished in 1999.
