British Business Group Vietnam
Dear achternaam,

Peter Rimmer - Executive Director of British Business Group Vietnam (BBGV) recently participated in the Britain in South East Asia (BiSEA) Roadshow to the UK which took place from the 8th to 16th April. Supported by British Chambers of Commerce and DIT the meeting venues included Birmingham, London, Cardiff, Manchester, Sheffield, Durham and Glasgow.  Many UK companies attended the events to understand more details concerning the opportunities in the marketplaces across South East Asia. BBGV met with over 70 companies on a 1-2-1 basis and shared with them information on doing business in Vietnam including trade and export opportunities in the country.  The business interests varied greatly from food and beverage to engineering products. Educational opportunities between the two countries also featured heavily in all the locations. Several of the companies voiced interest in taking overseas membership of BBGV. Both the BBGV Secretariat and Business Centre are following up on all the contacts made to support the companies develop their opportunities to trade and possible presence in Vietnam.

The BiSEA roadshow usually takes place twice a year to foster closer business links between the South-East Asia region and UK traders/exporters. Peter noted that each year of the Roadshow has seen the interest in Vietnam increase with more companies looking to expand their activities into the country.  Peter also took the opportunity to meet with Ambassador An in London and discussed several business issues with him, including education, the BBGV role within the Vietnam Business Forum, the British Advocacy Committee and the visit to Vietnam of Natalie Black, Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific.
