We’re so excited to be launching our nationwide CANSA Shavathon campaign at the end of February. We're truly thankful to all our media partners for helping us spread the message far and wide, and to local shopping centres for opening their doors to us. Shavathon would not be the success it is without you!
February is the month of love and if you love supporting those who have been affected by cancer. This is YOUR moment to ‘Be Uniquely You & Be Colourful’ while doing just that!
You can SHAVE - it's been hot, and it's set to get even hotter - so shave it off for a good cause and buy limited edition Shavathon headwear to keep warm when it cools down again...and don't forget a shaved head needs protection from the sun, so why not take advantage of our limited consignment of Urban Supply hats. Purchase a hat for R150 and get your head shaved or sprayed FREE of charge.
Transform your look by SPRAYING in a multitude of colours - or try out that colour you've always wanted to with no permanant damage (veggie-based dyes ensure your locks remain healthy and will the colour will wash out quickly)
STENCIL - stencils add flair when spraying hair and make for a decorative shaved head (subject to availability per venue)
Not keen on shaving it all off, but still keen to make a difference? You can DONATE YOUR HAIR 25 cm or longer, and we'll get it to our wigmakers so we can keep the cost of wigs for patients super low, only R100 for a natural hair wig… a limited-edition badge of honour will be given to those who make hair donations of 25 cm or longer…
* Certain venues may also host an event on Sunday, 27 February 2022 (be sure to confirm on the event directory though) and all venues will follow COVID-19 safety regulations.
We invite everyone to come and celebrate by bringing family members, friends and colleagues to shave or spray in solidarity with those facing a cancer diagnosis.
Where Does Your Money Go?
We’re really thrilled to bring YOU another opportunity to honour cancer Survivors and raise vital funds for those affected by cancer. All funds raised go directly towards providing CANSA’s care and support services to cancer patients, caregivers and loved ones.

Host an Event
Anyone can host a Shavathon event, it’s not limited to workplaces, organisations or schools. Those wishing to host their own event to raise funds for CANSA, will be hosting events from 28th February to 4 March 2022. To host an event, please register and order Shavathon products through the CANSA Online Shop.
Raise Funds Online
Participants are also invited to open an online fundraising page before participating in a Shavathon event and to invite their contacts to support the action they will take on behalf of cancer Survivors on the day, whether they shave, or spray, by making an online donation to the participant’s fundraising page.
Be sure to share your online fundraising efforts on your social media platforms using the hashtag #CANSAShavathon in the weeks leading up to your participation.
