It is Easter. And a late one too, so that this holiday comes close to the Mayday bank holiday. It is the first Easter without restrictions since 2019, so people plan to enjoy it. https://www.newsletter.co.uk/lifestyle/travel/roads-and-tourist-venues-expected-to-be-busy-as-province-gets-out-and-about-over-easter-weekend-3656936 It is also the first Easter under the new relaxed licensing laws https://www.newsletter.co.uk/lifestyle/easter-weekend-pub-opening-times-changes-welcomed-by-industry-body-3653307 For those more interested in the religious association, a number of Easter dawn services took place https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/national/video-dawn-services-are-held-across-northern-ireland-to-mark-easter-sunday-3657329 In terms of Easter parades, Monday is the big one for the loyal orders https://www.newsletter.co.uk/heritage-and-retro/heritage/apprentice-boys-to-junior-orange-your-guide-to-northern-irelands-easter-marches-3655002 It is also an Easter in which the election is ongoing. This is our first of three interviews with the unionist party leaders https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/politics/jim-allister-pm-betrayed-northern-ireland-so-i-would-not-miss-his-mendacity-3656867 And this is our first constituency profile (we will run one every day now until the polls open on May 5) https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/politics/election-2022-unionism-has-eyes-on-four-seats-in-lagan-valley-3656860 A popular story this week was this report about a planned ferry service. As someone who since the 1970s has walked, cycled, taken the bus, train, driven and been driven between Bangor and Belfast but never taken a boat, I do hope it comes to fruition https://www.newsletter.co.uk/news/transport/northern-ireland-to-get-glimpse-of-the-future-with-new-zero-emission-ferry-service-between-bangor-and-belfast-3651667 In sport, a rider was injured at the beginning of this race as competitors left the grid. https://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/motorcycling/racing-delayed-after-red-flag-incident-at-enkalon-trophy-meeting-at-bishopscourt-3657194 As ever this is so much more. --
