Private equity deal news and insights from the London newsroom

Mar 24, 2025

Beth Pickens explains TSG’s ‘very specific’ mandate; PAI in two deals; Agilitas carves out a tech services biz

Good morning, Nina Lindholm here with the Europe Wire from the London newsroom.

Private equity has been busy planting flags in European hubs – a trend that we investigated late last year. This morning, we hear from someone who has been appointed to lead such an office: Beth Pickens from TSG Consumer Partners. PE Hub’s Irien Joseph caught up with Pickens for our Dealmakers to Watch series to learn about her career and the way TSG approaches its investments.

We stay with the consumer sector for our next deals, as PAI Partners has announced two transactions. The firm is selling a minority stake in a European outdoor accommodation business, as well as acquiring a stake in an animal health products distributor.

We’ll finish with a carve-out, as Agilitas Private Equity is buying a Finnish tech services business.

Top name

Beth Pickens stepped into her new role at TSG Consumer Partners as the head of its London office in February with a clear mission to strengthen the US-headquartered private equity firm’s international foothold. This strategic appointment has earned Pickens a spot in PE Hub’s Dealmakers to Watch series.

Premium Wire subscribers can learn more about Pickens' career here.

I recommend reading Irien’s full piece, as it touches on how TSG has adapted to the imposition of tariffs.

Double announcement

Sticking with the consumer segment a while longer. PAI Partners has agreed to sell a “significant” minority stake in European Camping Group (ECG) to a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority.

PAI has been busy. The firm also announced today the acquisition of Nuzoa, an animal health products and services distributor, from Abac Capital.

To learn more about the two deals, check out the full Wire coverage here.

Carving out

We have one more deal to look at before I sign off. Agilitas Private Equity has agreed to buy Tietoevry Tech Services, a division of Tietoevry.

For more on that, including the purchase price and revenue details, take a look at the premium Wire coverage here.

That’s all from me. MK Flynn will bring you the US edition later today, and Craig McGlashan is on Europe duty tomorrow morning.

Cheers,

Nina

They said it

“Sector leaders and category creators in the US are not necessarily coming from the US. They might be coming from anywhere in the world, and it’s our responsibility to find them and back them as sector specialists.”
