I am done recording the Week 10 Beyond the Box Score podcast -- a weekly Monday recap show that I do with Adam and Dan -- and now it's time to catch FFT Newsletter readers up on everything that I've learned in the past 24 hours! We're going beyond the box score! |
If you want to check out the podcast version on FFT, you can listen to that here! |
Beyond the Box Score -- Fantasy football risers following Week 10 |
Fantasy riser -- Tampa Bay's backfield |
Rachaad White has the 11th-most receiving Fantasy points of any player over the past month! He has more points as a receiver than A.J. Brown over their past four games! |
There's a void left with Chris Godwin out of the picture, and White has led the way in filling it. I think that the return of Mike Evans will only help lift the top of opposing defenses. White probably isn't going to average 1.25 touchdowns per game, but he is the only Bucs RB who was given a rush attempt (he had two) from inside the 10-yard line in Week 10. |
Here is your weekly Bucky Irving film cut-up. You know that he's my preference of the two Buccaneers backs. I hope that his absolutely unbelievably impressive work this season (all of the plays in this thread are from an individual game! ) has maybe earned Irving more work coming out of a Week 11 bye. Post-bye rookie bump? Could be dope! Irving has been balling out even while playing through a toe injury! |
Both Tampa RB look like top-24 rest-of-season Fantasy running backs at this point in time. Only time will tell if that is too aggressive of a ranking, but the upside makes them worth that valuation in my mind. The remaining schedule is extremely inviting, each player is performing well, and either would profile as a borderline top-15 Fantasy RB if the role were to increase in a substantial way. If White were to miss time with injury, Irving would project as a weekly top-12 Fantasy RB for me. |
Fantasy riser -- Darnell Mooney |
The positive momentum keeps building for Mooney! |
Fantasy risers -- George Pickens |
Finally, the Fantasy gods smiled on Pickens in Week 10. |
Fantasy riser -- Jauan Jennings |
You can watch some Jauan Jennings Week 10 film here. He's an interesting receiver. He does not win with speed. |
He does win, though. |
The Week 10 role was awesome. The Niners have several potential shootouts awaiting them to close out the season. It would not surprise me if this offense leads the NFL in points scored from this point on if none of the major pieces miss significant time with injuries. |
Fantasy riser -- Jalen Coker |
It could have been a much bigger Fantasy performance. The underlying data was great for Coker in Week 10. Finally, he ran more routes than David Moore. This was definitely an exciting development for the undrafted rookie. |
Fantasy riser -- Curtis Samuel |
Keon Coleman has already been ruled out for Week 11, Amari Cooper can't seem to get on the field lately, and Dalton Kincaid only ran nine routes before leaving Week 10's game. As a result, we saw Curtis Samuel step into a full-time role as a perimeter receiver. |
Khalil Shakir led the Bills with a 36% first-read target rate, and Samuel was second with a 28% rate. Neither player was particularly productive, but any opportunity to play a starring role for the Buffalo Bills is noteworthy for Fantasy purposes. Samuel should probably be rostered in leagues with deeper benches. |
Fantasy riser -- Chase Brown and Audric Estime |
Both young backs took over their backfield in Week 10. It remains to be seen how the roles might evolve over the course of the season's second-half, but the Week 10 usage was certainly encouraging. |

If you don't know about it already, Dan and I created a second Beyond the Box Score episode that is exclusive to YouTube. We've had a ton of awesome guests help us get the show up and running, and we have both put a lot of work into that podcast project with an aim to make it fun and accessible for any level of NFL fan! You can support the project by watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing. Thanks for being here! |
