| Former President Donald Trump has officially abandoned his 2016 campaign promise to abolish the Affordable Care Act. He now says he would “make the A.C.A. much better than it is right now and much less expensive,” if he is elected to a second term. Trump's policy U-turn and new emphasis on increasing government involvement in healthcare, as opposed to eliminating it, is actually more in line with Republican voters than the traditional “repeal and replace” message, according to a new survey by American Compass. The survey measured 1,000 Americans’ “appetite for government.” What it found was the average Republican is hungry for more federal government solutions — or at least unwilling to remove anything from their current diet. |

| In a move being praised by the United States mining industry, President Joe Biden signed legislation on Monday that puts in effect a ban on Russian uranium coming into the country and also jump-starts the necessary enrichment process with an infusion of $2.7 billion in additional funding. “This is a great day for the United States and its allies,” said Curtis Moore, vice president of marketing and corporate development for Energy Fuels, a Colorado-based company that operates the only uranium processing mill in the U.S., located in Utah’s San Juan County. Energy Fuels and others in the industry say the ban will help shape a new future for carbon-free energy and breathe life into an industry that has struggled with low uranium prices and market domination by foreign countries.
