Apple’s OS Lineup Is Getting a Total Makeover

This isn’t just a new look. It’s a smarter approach.

Apple is set to introduce major changes to its operating systems at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which begins June 9.

Among the changes, Apple will begin naming OS updates by model year. The next iOS release will skip iOS 19 and jump to iOS 26, with iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS all following the same 2026-based naming scheme.

This move is intended tobring consistency across Apple’s fragmented OS lineup, where version numbers currently range widely. Apple aims to unify everything under a single annual label to simplify its ecosystem and make versioning more predictable.

Apple is also expected to reveal a significant redesign across its operating systems. Inspired by visionOS, the refreshed UI is likely to bring a more cohesive visual identity to Apple devices.

Why it matters: The new changes simplify Apple’s software lineup, signaling a more unified, future-focused approach across all its platforms. It also positions Apple to roll out updates and features more consistently, laying the groundwork for tighter integration across its growing hardware ecosystem.

The pilot program will deploy about 10 self-driving vehicles, confined to geofenced areas deemed “safest” for initial operations. If successful, Tesla plans to scale the fleet to thousands, marking a significant step toward its autonomous ride-hailing ambitions.

If the trial sticks, Austin’s next drivers won’t need a license … just a firmware update.

Anthropic CEO: AI Could Erase Half of Entry-Level, White-Collar Jobs

Yikes. The future of work just got a reality check.

Dario Amodei, CEO of AI powerhouse Anthropic, is raising a red flag about the looming impact of AI on the U.S. workforce.

Amodei predicts that AI could eliminate up to 50% of entry-level white-collar jobs within five years, potentially pushing unemployment rates as high as 20%. Despite the potential for economic and scientific breakthroughs, he fears the nation is sleepwalking into a jobs crisis few are willing to confront.

The takeaway? Adaptability could be just as important as innovation in the years ahead.
