Big surge in European trade with Iran
The lifting of sanctions is having an increasingly positive effect on trade relations between Iran and the European Union, creating significant opportunities for companies in both regions. Over the first six months of 2017 the value of bilateral trade totaled around €9.9 billion, according to statistics from the European Commission. This compared with €5.1 billion in the equivalent period of 2016, an impressive rise of 94%. Imports from Iran into the 28 nation EU block are increasing at a particularly rapid rate, driven by oil traffic flows. The value of trade inbound to Europe from Iran surged by a staggering 224%, to €5 billion, while exports from Europe to Iran jumped 37% to €4.9 million. Further increases in trade, and inward investment, are expected over the coming months, making the IRANIMEX2017 event even more timely and important. Download the brochure for more information. |
