The Portuguese island of Madeira has been visited by a delegation of Bitcoiners to extend Bitcoin adoption.
Madeira is a popular tourist destination with a rich cultural heritage and is home to an educated population with fast internet and modern infrastructure.
Madeira's economy heavily relies on tourism, but it receives substantial EU subsidies for improving connectivity, transport and infrastructure, which will help secure the island's future.
The island is also home to a Madeiran entrepreneur, André Loja, who has business interests in tourism, real estate — and Bitcoin, which may play a crucial role in Madeira's future.

Twitter is reportedly preparing to add payment functionality to its platform and could potentially include cryptocurrency options.
Elon Musk is open to including Bitcoin and other crypto. According to sources, Twitter has started to map out the architecture needed to facilitate payments and has applied for regulatory licenses in the U.S.
Musk wants Twitter to prioritize fiat payments but for the product to be made with the ability to enable crypto payments later. There are no firm plans to implement this yet, but Musk wants to make Twitter a "super app," so it remains to be seen what interesting moves he'll pull to accomplish this.

Mastercard And Binance To Offer Bitcoin, Crypto Card In Brazil

Mastercard and Binance have launched a Bitcoin and cryptocurrency-backed prepaid card in Brazil, Latin America's largest economy.
The Binance Card is in beta testing and is expected to be widely available in Brazil in the near future. The card allows new and existing Binance users with a valid national ID to pay bills and make purchases with cryptocurrencies at Mastercard merchants.
It charges a 0.9% transaction fee for Bitcoin transactions and offers 8% cashback on select purchases, with no fees for ATM withdrawals.
The launch is part of Binance's effort to bridge the gap between traditional finance and cryptocurrency, with Brazil being one of Binance's top 10 markets. An estimated 10 million Brazilians, out of a population of 214 million, use cryptocurrencies. The solution is not, of course, as a free-access platform that does not require government ID, but it does bring the ability to use bitcoin to pay for goods to millions of people.
