By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor We've tracked down some of the documents behind a decision to arrest a nursing home operator because of actions taken and not taken during Hurricane Ida last year. There are numerous text exchanges involving Bob Dean, who moved patients to a Tangipahoa Parish warehouse last August. The qualifying period for school board elections opens in three weeks, but we still don't know what East Baton Rouge's districts will look like, or even how many districts there will be. Among the questions: A current justice wants to know what will happen when his term expires in January if he cannot put his name forward for re-election in November. And a pair of LSU researchers want to know what's behind fecal contamination of two rivers in Tangipahoa Parish. No swimming is advised in the Natalbany and Yellow Water rivers (and no, that's not why they call it Yellow Water). And here's a chance to perhaps weigh in on what we do here. We're seeking members for a Reader Advisory Panel. What is there to do? Read, then get together with others and advise. Details at this link. |
