Facebook privacy settings: Most important security checks to do now

Facebook tracks your activity to target you with ads, recommend groups and more. Beyond that, Facebook receives data from its partners to target you further. So when you visit a site or use another app, your activity there can be shared with Facebook. You can reduce your exposure by reviewing and changing some security settings. We'll show you how.

Quick tip of the day

Regardless of why you want to keep your text messages secret, this is a handy trick that you may not know. Perhaps you use your phone for work and don’t want personal messages popping up while you're with clients. Keep your private messages private by using iPhone’s secret feature.

Here’s how:

  • Open the Notes App.
  • Type in a subject for your note.
  • In the top right-hand corner of the app, tap on the person icon to add someone to the note.
  • Tap the three dots at the top of the note.
  • Select Share Note.
  • Under Share Options, choose Can Make Changes.
  • Choose how to send your note.

Now that a person has been added to your note and allowed to make changes, you can communicate privately. And it won’t show up in your text messages.

Streaming tip: Get your money's worth with ExpressVPN

You know what’s not fair? Netflix hides thousands of shows and movies from you based on your location and then has the nerve to increase prices yet again. Make sure you’re getting your full money’s worth by using ExpressVPN.

What’s on Netflix in the U.S. is completely different from what someone in the U.K. or Japan has on theirs. ExpressVPN has over 90 countries to choose from, so every time you run out of stuff to watch, just switch to another country to unlock new shows.

Stop paying full-price for streaming services and only getting access to a fraction of their content.
