This is one of the things I love most about summer - heading up to my local beach in the evening with a light dinner and a bottle of wine to enjoy the sunset. Summer is far too short, in my opinion, so I'm trying to enjoy as much of the sunshine as I possibly can! When I take some time to recharge by unplugging, I am even more productive when I'm working - especially in the summer. In this month's newsletter, you'll find links to my most recent columns in Law Practice Magazine, where I discuss the different ways artificial intelligence is impacting the practice of law today. But I've done more video than writing so far this summer - or at least I've done more video that has been published than I have written for publication this summer - so most of this issue is devoted to video. This set of videos is all about productivity - each video is less than 3 minutes long, so if you want some quick tips to help boost your productivity this summer, check them out. Even though I've been spending a lot of time on video and haven't published many other blog posts or articles, I am still writing. In fact, Dennis Kennedy and I have been hard at work on a new book on LinkedIn, Making LinkedIn Work for You that we hope to release before summer is officially over. Although we intend to put out a paperback version of the book as well, we're starting off by publishing the book direct to Kindle to get it in as many hands as possible as soon as possible. Stay on the lookout for an official announcement about the book soon! We will be following up the book with an online course and some other training over the next year as well. I'd love to get your comments on the videos, my columns, or ideas you have for future articles or newsletters Let me know what you're thinking! | | | | In the last (May/June) issue of Law Practice Magazine, my Simple Steps column, Managing Artificial Intelligence, talked about how artificial intelligence will impact the practice of law and the delivery of legal services in the future, how it is being used now, and how law firms can prepare for artificial intelligence in their practices. In the current issue of the magazine, I continue with my thoughts on artificial intelligence with the column, Artificial Intelligence vs. Emotional Intelligence, where I explore the idea that the rise of technology, including artificial intelligence, makes emotional intelligence and soft skills even more important in the practice of law. | | Last month I posted links to two podcasts I appeared on, both focusing on productivity (you can find them here (Lawyerist - Episode #222, Doing Even More with Less Time) and here (State Bar of Michigan's On Balance podcast on the Legal Talk Network). Since then, I also recorded a podcast interview on Chelsey Lambert's Women in Legal Podcast, where she talks with women leaders in the legal industry. The episode hasn't been posted yet, but I'll be sure to share the link when it's up, or you can check back to her podcast page to see the latest episodes as they air. |
Want to Improve Your Marketing? |
|
If you want to dial up your marketing, the first step is to get exceptionally clear about your target audience (both clients and referral sources). One way to do that is by completing my Ideal Client Profile workbook.
This workbook takes you step by step through the process of identifying and targeting your ideal clients. It's the same process I use with my consulting clients. | Learn More |
