Fifty years ago two young Australians bought a lion cub from Harrods and raised him in their flat in Chelsea. It was the start of an extraordinary journey that saw the lion, called Christian, successfully introduced into the wild in Africa by George Adamson, and then, two years later, an emotional reunion that has become one of the most-watched clips on YouTube. Now Christian is back in a new illustrated book featuring scores of never-before-seen pictures!

Chris Packham will be headlining our blockbuster Big Cat Festival next year. But if you want a sneak preview, he'll also be teaming up with renowned guide and photographer Paul Goldstein (who wowed the audience at our festival in 2017) for a series of four charity evening lectures in November run by leading tour operator Exodus Travels. The dynamic duo will be showcasing the best of their wildlife photos – and offering colourful, unfiltered and, at times, downright brutal critiques of each other's work! These 'Even Wilder Nights Out' promise to be hugely entertaining, and will take place in Kensington, Dorking, Buxton and Cheltenham. And don't miss your chance to enter the photo competition, with a fabulous safari prize worth over £5,000. To book your ticket, click here. To enter the photo competition, click here.
