This was a historic year. In 2022, the Forward: - Won an unprecedented 43 Rockower Awards from the American Jewish Press Association — up from last year’s record-breaking haul of 34 — along with honors fromthe Religion News Association, the Deadline Club, the Society for Features Journalism, andthe Los Angeles Press Club.
- Led the Jewish conversation around some of the biggest news stories of the year, including the synagogue hostage-taking in Texas; the July 4 shooting in Highland Park, Illinois; the overturning of Roe v. Wade; the war in Ukraine; and the midterm elections in the United States.
- Saw our work credited and featured in outlets including The New York Times, Politico, and The Times of Israel, and translated into multiple languages.
- Hosted and moderated live-journalism events, including a once-in-a-lifetime evening with all four living Editors-in-Chief of the Forward, candidate forums in New York, and an interview with Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt.
- Introduced Yiddish Wordle and a weekly Jewish News Quiz.
- Launched a new season of the Bintel Brief podcast, connecting our historic signature advice column to new generations.
