BREAKING NEWS: Facebook to pay $5B to settle privacy probe with FTC

Social media giant Facebook will pay $5 billion and create an independent board charged with overseeing privacy-related efforts in a settlement with federal regulators, the Federal Trade Commission said Wednesday. The company will report earnings after 4 p.m. ET.
