Even with the Chinese New Year period, local gross gaming revenues have dropped by 8.8 per cent in February 2021 from the previous month to about MOP7.3 billion (US$915.1 million), data published today by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) reveals. Higher results were previously expected with the Chinese New Year holiday period falling in February, however, an increase in infections in the mainland coupled with several notices by authorities to avoid travel during the festive period led to luke-warm visitation numbers. |
